The ReportLab Developer Network allows developers to work with
ReportLab's entire enterprise package without purchasing full Enterprise licenses
(See our pricing page).
By joining the DevNet network, you will be able to
develop using the complete range of ReportLab products,
as well as enjoy professional technical support.
You will have fully functional versions of our products and access to
upgrades, with the sole
limitation that all PDF and chart output has a nagline - a
line of text appearing at the base of the page to prevent
production use. Purchasing a full license
removes the nagline.
Conditions of membership
We presume you are developers with all-round web development skills, and enough
Python experience to install packages. We will NOT provide support for basic
Python help as part of this.

Low Volume Production Licenses
Our normal pricing is for enterprise situations and generally assumes high-throughput document
servers. However RML is ideally suited to smaller in-house or departmental tasks. To encourage
web developers to get to grips with the product suite, we often grant a production license AT NO ADDITIONAL
COST. This is contractually limited to 1000 pages per month. Small business can therefore use it for invoicing,
literature production, product catalogues and many other monthly tasks.
If you wish to discuss a production license prior to purchase, email us with a brief description
covering your company, team, and the purpose for which you wish to use it. We need to know the
business context as well
Charity and Academic Licenses
Universities and charities are usually entitled to a full, unlimited-volume license
for the price above. A DevNet membership is our normal approach to academic and charitable
licensing, provided you have the developer resources to build and support the system.
Again, email us first to confirm the intended use. We reserve the right to decline licenses
to certain charities and/or revenue-generating or enterprise-level activities.
